The 2010 Chevy Silverado has an evap vent solenoid that can be found at the rear of the vehicle. It is located in the area above the muffler, inside the evap canister or purge valve. If You find that the solenoid is faulty, You will need to replace it. You can expect to pay between $22 and $57 for the part alone. Symptoms of a faulty solenoid include the vehicle refusing to start, the check engine light coming on, a sudden increase of pressurized gas in the fuel tank, and failure of emissions tests.
