The o2 sensors for a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo are located in the exhaust, on each side of the catalytic converter. The O2 sensor is designed to make sure that the mix of air and fuel in the engine is correct. If there is too much of one or the other then the engine is running rich or lean. If this is the case then it will not be working efficiently. In the short term, this will cause You to have worse gas mileage, but in the long term, it can put extra wear on Your engine and cause damage. O2 sensors are cheap, about 30 dollars, so You need to replace them if they go bad, or risk bigger payments later.
