The 2011 Honda CR-V uses SAE 0W-20 oil. Honda recommends that You use fully synthetic oil whenever You need to change it in Your CR-V. The two common types of oil on the market these days are conventional and synthetic. Conventional is based on petroleum is older technology. Synthetic is a newer technology that is engineered in a lab to give You greater wear protection and longer life between changes. This means with synthetic You should only need to change it every 7,500 miles compared to the 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. I recommend that You check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is full and free from any debris or burning.
