The 2011 Mercedes E350 bluetec uses SAE 5W-30 oil. Mercedes recommends that You use synthetic oil whenever You change it. The two types of oil on the market these days are synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is a newer type of oil and is engineered to give You greater wear protection and longer life than the standard petroleum option. This means You should only need to change synthetic every 7,500 miles compared to the standard 3,500 to 5,000 mile range with conventional. I recommend checking Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is free from any signs of debris or damage. You should also make sure that it is full because if it is low that could indicate a leak.
