The 2012 Chevy Equinox contains two Oxygen sensors, called O2 sensors for short. These can be found mounted onto the catalytic converter of the car and are typically located towards the passenger seat side of the car. They are attached onto the exhaust pipes of the converter and so, are extremely important towards the cars functionality. While You can drive with broken, damaged or faulty oxygen sensors, its best to get them addressed as soon as possible. They play an important role in fuel efficiency. As a result, damaged oxygen sensors can lead to larger fuel bills, as well as cause periphery damage to Your car.
