The 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 has a capacity of 1.873 lbs. Of R134-A refrigerant, or just over 24 ounces and 7 ounces of Polyalkylene Glycol or PAG oil. The refill port (low pressure side) is sticking out about 4 inches from the top of the firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment. When refilling the AC system, it is important to have the truck running and the air conditioner on full blast. Connect the end of the hose to the port and fill. To properly fill the AC system, the lines need to be placed and held under vacuum, which will remove any moisture in the system. Manifold gauges need to be connected to both the high- and low-pressure ports, You dont have to worry about mixing them up, they are two different sizes.
