The 2012 Honda CR-V uses a CR1616 battery in its remote access keys. This is a typical lithiuM3V battery, but isn't interchangeable with Your typical CR2032: that has a 20mm diameter and iS3.2mm thick, while the CR1616 is 16mm in diameter and 1.6mm thick. Honda really just loves being "different". Or maybe the current term is "special". Replacing's a snap; literally! Gently pry apart the sides of Your key FOB, and You can just pop out the old battery (do notice which way is "up" on it, as that does matter) and place the new one in its place. Costwise, You should expect to pay under $5 for a few in a package.

2012 Honda CRV uses the CR1616 battery which is slightly thinner than the CR1620. If you try and use the CR1620 battery; although it will power the key-fob, the fob compartment will not close properly. The correct battery is the CR1616.
