The 2012 INFINITI G37 uses SAE 5W-30 oil in the engine. Whenever You need to change it INFINITI recommends that You use full synthetic oil. The two common types of oil on the market are synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is newer and engineered in a lab to give You better protection than the older conventional type. Synthetic oil also lasts longer meaning that You will only need to change it every 7,500 miles compared to the 3,500 to 5,000 mile interval for conventional. I recommend checking Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is free from debris or damage. You should also make sure that it is not too dark because that would be another sign that it is time to replace it.
