The 2012 Kia Rio's IAC or "Idle Air Control Valve" is mounted on the throttle body. The throttle body is accessible from inside the engine bay and under hood. Locate the black air filter boxAgainst the driver's side of the firewall and follow the intake hose to find the TB. It will placed below the large hose. The valve is responsible for managing the amount of oxygen injected into the Rio's motor to enable firing. The oxygen/fuel mixture provides the engine with optimal conditions for creating combustion. Both the IAC and TB can become d***y and clogged with soot as they process large amounts of air and fuel. If the IAC fails, the engine will idle roughly, timing will be erratic and the vehicle may stall.
