The 2013 Chevy Equinox has a pair of oxygen sensors on the car. There is one of them located on the exhaust after the header and before the catalytic converter, and a second one is located after the cat. The oxygen sensors on Your car are there to measure the air to fuELRatio in the exhaust gasses. It also is there to verify that Your catalytic converter is removing pollutants from the exhaust before it is released into the atmosphere. When an oxygen sensor on Your car fails You will usually get a check engine light. You may also notice that Your car runs very rough and may stall while driving which can be a dangerous situation.
