The 2013 Chevy Malibu has a transmission fluid capacity of 6.3 quarts of fluid. Chevrolet recommends that You use synthetic Dexron VI fluid in Your vehicle whenever You need to change it. If You need to do a full transmission flush then You will need ten total quarts of fluid since the first half fill will need to be drained again. It is a good idea to check Your transmission fluid every time that You change the oil in Your car. When You check the fluid You should make sure that it is full and free from any debris. Usually debris will make the fluid look reflective or metallic and can indicate that there is a problem with the gears.
