The 2013 Hyundai Veloster engine oil type iS5W-30. Having high quality oil is important for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into problems with the oil at some point. Old or bad oil can cause the engine to stop working. Knocking noise may come about from the engine. You could experience terrible gas mileage. A common problem is an awful burning odor. This needs to be viewed closely as soon as possible or the car might explode. Your oil needs to be changed out someday. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles or so is a good rule of thumb. If You don't replace it, there will be problems with the engine.

I use synthetic blend 5W-30 because 5W-20 burns off to fast. My car has no oil leaks I live in the dead heat in Florida and everytime I check the oil with 5W-20 it was always low which is crazy since I have no leaks. My mechanic said these little motors run really hot so top it off and check it often.
