The starter for a 2013 Mazda3 is going to be located in the engine compartment. It will be deep down below the engine and near the transmission. You're going to want to look at the bottom left portion of the transmission housing and You're going to see the wires for it in this area. Follow the wires to then find the actual starter. Will be easy once You located Your transmission. A replacement starter is going to cost between $40 and $120 depending on if You go aftermarket or oem. If You want to take it in to a shop for repairs the total of labor and parts will be around $300.
