The 2014 BMW X5 does not have a dipstick that You can use to check the oil level, it checks the level electronically. To check the level You use the infotainment screen on the inside of the vehicle. To navigate the screen You use the controls near the gear shift which will be to the right of Your leg when sitting in the driver's seat. To be able to check the level You will need to be on level ground with the engine warm and on. To check the level, press the menu button on the controls and then turn the knob wheel to find "vehicle information" and then press it. Scroll to and select "vehicle status" and then scroll to and select "measure engine oil level".
