The coolant temperature sensor in Your 2014 Dodge Caravan can be found on the coolant piping that is below Your air intake pipe. This is in an area that is near the back of the cylinder head on the right side. This sensor has the job of measuring Your coolant temperature. It sends this information to the ECU and that allows it to determine how fast the water pump needs to be moving to exchange coolant throughout Your engine. If this sensor fails it will also display a check engine light at Your dash, as well as make Your temperature gauge not work properly. It is important to replace it if it fails because it can lead to Your engine overheating.
