The thermostat in a 2014 GMC Acadia is below the air filter housing. If You're going to replace it You will need to drain the radiator fluid from the car first period crawl under the front of the vehicle and on the driver side of the radiator remove the bottom hose. Make sure You have a container below it to capture all the fluid. Next with the air filter housing and the duct going to the throttle body, this is a good time to replace Your air filter as well. Now take off the engine cover, unscrew the oil fill cap and lift the cover up. There is plastic cover over the thermostat housing that needs removed too. Now You will be able to unbolt the housing and get to the thermostat. You will need a 10mm and 15mm socket and some pliers to do this job.
