The 2014 Jeep Wrangler coolant temperature sensor is found in the coolant pipe located below the air intake pipe. It constantly monitors the engine coolant temperature information to the engine control unit and the temperature gauge. By relaying the information to the ECU and the temperature gauge, this sensor ensures that the car works within the manufacturer's recommended temperature. If the temperature ever increases above this limit, then this sensor also alerts the driver of any imminent fault in the cooling system. Any fault in this sensor may cause the car to run too cold in some cases and to overheat in others. In both cases, there is a chance of damage to the engine. The average cost for a Jeep Wrangler engine coolant temperature sensor replacement is between $88 and $120.

On the Jeep Wrangler JK The coolant temp sensor is located on the driver’s side back corner area of the engine just above the exhaust. The sensor part # W0133-2008726-MPR or after market equivalent is what fits. I have two 2014 Jeep Wrangler JK in my family. Both jeeps at about 70k throws the code P0128. Unless your jeep is overheating it is this sensor. You can get to it through the driver front fender well.
