The correct battery for the key fob used on the 2016 Chevy Malibu is a 3v CR2032 battery. These are very common and are used in most key fobs and You can pick them up for around $2 each, sometimes even less depending on where You look. To replace the battery You need to first remove the mechanical key from the fob. Then insert a screwdriver or other object into the hole where the key was and pry the two halves of the fob apart. After that You juSTSwap out the old battery with the new one and put the two parts back together again. -
