The type of coolant that should be used in the 2016 Chevrolet Sonic is DEX-COOL with A50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water. The capacity for the vehicle iS6.5 L for the 1.4 L 4Cylinder and 6.0 L for the 1.8 L 4Cylinder engine. The coolant goes through the engine and radiator to help manage temperature extremes and to prevent it from overheating or freezing. The coolant should last 5 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. To check the coolant You should first park the vehicle on a level surface and wait for the engine to cool down. Check to see where the level is at in the reservoir to see if it needs to be changed or not.
