Most 2016 Dodge Challengers do not have a standard power steering system like older vehicles. The new system uses an electric motor mounted directly to the rack and pinion instead of the hydraulic pump system seen on previous models. Because of this the vehicle no longer uses power steering fluid and therefore no longer has a reservoir for it. The only exception to this is the Hellcat which uses a standard hydraulic system. The fully electric system allows the vehicle to adjust the amount of power steering applied based on speed, conditions or even driver error versus the original system that could only adjust based on rpms of the engine since that was the force driving the pump.
