If You're getting a engine code 7E8 on Your Ford Focus, that's going to intake there's an issue with the fuel/air intake combo. This will often be paired with a code P1326, which is a code for the Engine Fuel and Air Metering Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor. While You should look at that sensor first, often times this code is going to be thrown for the knock sensor. Some signs that this is faulty will be if You hear engine knock and pinging, or if the engine doesn't seem to accelerate properly when You put the pedal down. You can usually pick up a compatible part from Autozone for about $23, and if this is the issue, the trouble codes will clear after You've installed it.
