If there is a code that was thrown on Your BMW the first thing You should do is stop driving. Driving with a code can cause more damage to the vital components in Your engine and should be avoided. If You have a code A0B6 that means that the vehicle has detected a problem with the selector lever interlock. That usually means that the vehicle is not able to be moved out of gear or out of park depending on when the component failed. Usually to fix this You will need to replace the actual interlock device to get it working properly again. This usually will cost about $300 to do at a shop since it does require a decent amount of labor.

Hi, I was wondering if you managed to fix your problem with your gear selector lock, code AOB6?? I have the exact same code. Thanks

An issue with the Selector-lever interlock causes the BMW code a0b6.
