There are two fuse boxes on the BMW 4 Series. The first is located under the hood, while the second is located under the dashboard below the steering wheel. But what makes a fuse so important. Well in electronics and electrical engineering, a fuse is an electrical safety device that operates to provide overcurrent protection of an electrical circuit. Its essential component is a metal wire or strip that melts when too much current flows through it, thereby stopping or interrupting the current. So before panicking and assuming Your battery is losing its charge, or Your vehicle's electrical system has malfunctioned, check Your fuses. Fuses are used to limit the electrical current flowing through wires to protect certain components. In Your car, the fuse box is used to protect the electronics within Your vehicle.

Hello BMW friends. Thank you for the add. I have a problem I hope you can help me with. The cigarette lighter plug in the console no longer works. I checked the fuse box in the trunk and the chart does not show which fuse is for that cigarette plug. Does anyone know what fuse it might be, or what may be wrong if not the fuse? I have a 2017 430i convertible (F33) Thank you!!
