When You have a fault code in Your BMW the first thing that I suggest You do is stop driving as soon as possible. Driving with a fault code can lead to more damage to Your engine and transmission if there is a component that is broken in them. Once You have stopped You can use an OBD II scan tool to read the ECU for any codes that are in it. If You have a code P1050 P1062 that means that there is a problem with the variable valve timing on bank 1. This will usually mean that the vehicle will be in limp home mode because the engine is unable to reach full power. You will need to visit a shop to have this diagnosed further.

Code P1050 in a BMW means that there is an O2 sensor problem.
I know that the p1062 code is variable valve timing.
