The BMW X5 e70 starter relay location is under the dashboard panel, beneath the glove box, by the floor of the front passenger. This part of the car will eventually become ineffective at some point. The battery will need to be changed out every 50,000 to 60,000 miles. It may coSTSome money, but You will have to cough up the cash to keep Your car running. You will come into issues with the battery during the life cycle of the vehicle. For one, the battery can just be completely out of juice. You will need to recharge or replace it at this point. There can be a leak, causing the fluid to come out. The battery can drain quickly and will need to fixed. A cracked case could come about and will need to be replaced completely.

My 2011 X5 also has this issue once the starter or engine gets warm, the starter will engage and disengage quickly, before the engine can start. I replaced the battery and starter and had the alternator tested (OK). Seems like the electronics is cutting off power to the starter motor. Any ideas? Thanks. Neil
