The brake fluid for Dodge Dakota 2008 type is dot 3. Changing the brake fluid in a car can be easy or simple depending on if You need to bleed the brakes. If You just need to add more fluid then You will need to find the intake port located under the hood of the car. Unscrew the cap and look at the container. You will have a MIN and FULL line. Fill the container so that it is somewhere between those two, preferably near the full line. Screw the cap back on and You are done. If You need to bleed the brakes then You will need to first lift the car up off the ground using a jack. Now remove the tires from the car. Starting in the back, located the bleeder valve on the wheel. Connect a piece of rubber tubing to the valve, then turn it to the open position. Get into the car and slowly press down on the brake pedal. Let it up, and then do it again. You will see the fluid coming out of the tube and into a bucket. Keep doing this till nothing comes out, then switch to the next tire. Repeat till You have done all the wheels. Now put the tires back on and You can refill the brakes.
