The check gauges light in a Dodge Ram 3500 means that there is likely something wrong with the oil pressure gauge. This light turns on most commonly when the oil pressure sensor has a fault and it is not sending a correct oil pressure reading to Your gauges. The check gauges light can also turn on though when there is any fault that would lead to problems with Your truck's gauges. You should use an OBD II scan tool to determine what the root cause of the problem is. The ECU will be able to let You know what has gone wrong so that You can either fix or replace the damaged components that have caused Your gauges to not work properly.

Mine came on due to low voltage. Maybe alternator going out or aloose connection somewhere. Reset upon next start up. Still trouble shooting.
