The Chevy Traverse comes standard with 8 inches of ground clearance. This is usually enough to get You through rough roads, and some light off roading. The Traverse is not known for being an extremely good off road vehicle due to the lack of a low range transfer case so I would not buy it if that's what You are looking for. If You need to do some light trail driving through then the 8 inches of ground clearance should be enough. There are SUVs on the market that have more and less ground clearance, and this one being in the middle makes it a good option for someone looking for a decent daily driver. The height is also low enough that it is less likely to tip over than some of the competition that sits higher.
