A replacement key FOB for the 2014 Chevrolet Equinox is pretty cheap: You can pick up a Dorman 92059 or 95631 for $27 and $23 respectively, and both are sleek and compatible with Your vehicle. Of course, the fun part is progRamming a new remote when You get it. As far as this process goes, Chevy's isn't too terrible. First, manually unlock the door with the mechanical key, and then shut all the doors. Insert Your key into the ignition, but don't start the car. Press and hold the unlock button the driver's side door and turn the key to the ON position; don't start the engine. Now, turn the key back off, and back to ON, and back to OFF, quickly. All this time You should have been holding the UNLOCK button, which You can now release. When You do, You should hear all the door locks engage and then disengage, indicating that You can begin the progRamming sequence. On Your new FOB, press and hold the UNLOCK and LOCK buttons at the same time, until You hear the door locks engage and disengage again. This means Your Equinox has registered Your new FOB. Good job!

The cost estimate to replace a key fob for a Chevrolet Equinox is in the range of $90 to $400. The price is going to depend on the kind that you need and the manufacturing year of your vehicle.
