The Dodge Grand Caravan requires the use of DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid, though DOT 3 is recommended. It's not recommended because it's superior to its counterpart, but because the only additional benefit of using DOT 4 is a higher boiling point. During the normal operation of a Grand Caravan, You won't be hitting that boiling point anyway, making the premium that You're paying nothing more than wasted money. On the other hand, if You happen to have some DOT 4 brake fluid lying around already, You're more than free to use it; Your Grand Caravan will accept it without issues. However, if You're thinking about buying "upgraded fluid", save Your money and just go with DOT 3, as it's all You'll really be able to take advantage of.

The Dodge Caravan requires DOT 3 brake fluid in its brake assembly to operate smoothly and safely. Always check with your owners manual to verify.
