The Ford SYNC module is located on the passenger side of the cabin. To access You will need to drop the glove boxAnd remove entirely. The unit should be located to the right of the air conditioning boxAnd behind the TPMS/RKE module. To disconnect, locate the black wire harness connected to a gray release lever/handle. This is called an "apim canbus connector". Between the harness and lever should be a gray tab. Depress this tab and turn the lever to free the SYNC module from its harness. When removed, unhook the connector cover to find the wire ports for re-inserting. Use the blue and red wires for connecting to the new unit and reverse the process to restore. Voice activated commands should be recognized by SYNC software now.
