The coolant temperature sensor on a Honda CR-V is located at the bottom of the radiator slightly right of center. In order to replace it You will have to Drain the coolant from the engine. The petcock to open the drain is right at the bottom of the radiator in the middle. Place a catch pan below the radiator to contain the fluid. There are several push connectors and 15-millimeter bolts. Pop out the plastic connectors first, You can use a flat blade screwdriver but it's better if You use a tool specifically designed to remove these connectors. When it comes to removing the metal bolts, it's not uncommon for the bracket that the Bolt threads into to spin with the Bolt. Stick Your fingers behind the plastic shield and try to hold the bracket to prevent it from spinning. Once the shield is off, look between the engine and the radiator and find the sensor.

The Honda CRV Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is located in the coolant pipe, below the air intake pipe and behind the right cylinder head and is integral with the ECT sensor.
