The Honda Element's dash lights can be dimmed by locating a small knob on the driver's information panel. It is installed on the right side of the cluster and doubles as the trip odometer button. To dim the instrument panel lighting, turn the knob counterclockwise and left. To raise them to their maximum setting, twist the knob clockwise and to the right and the interior lighting will remain at the "MAX" setting whether the headlights are on or off. However, If the control is moved one notch left, it will beep and sit at the MAX setting, but dim when the headlights are switched on. The odometer button can be pushed to view the "main" or "trip" readings or the outside temperature.

YO. If you have an Older Element, this is not the correct answer. My O4 has it set up that you push (not turn) the knob on the LEFT of speedometer several times, to adjust the dash light brightness. (THEY DON'T TURN!!! Do not try to turn them!!) Check your owners manual. The above answer may be correct for some models .... Not for 04 LX. Thank you.

The dimmer switch on the Honda Element can be in two places, either on the steering column or it will be a button on the main console dash.
