The maintenance code a16 for the Honda Pilot meanS3 different things. The a means that the engine oil needs to be replaced, the 1 means that the tires need to be rotated and the 6 means that You need to replace the rear differential fluid (if equipped). It is important to keep up with all of these in-order to keep the car up and running. The oil should be replaced every 7,500 to 10,000 miles for synthetic or 3,000 to 5,000 miles for conventional. It is recommended to rotate the tires every 3,000 to 5,000 miles or so. The rear differential fluid in the Pilot should be replaced every 60,000 Miles or so. The code coming up on the vehicle is a pretty good thing so You don't have to keep track of all these by Yourself.

Why is the 6 popping up when the pilot only has 44,450 miles on it for the differential, it's not 60,000 miles yet?
