There are two oxygen sensors in the HyundaiAccent, one is upstream of the catalytic converter and the other downstream. The upstream oxygen sensor is located between the back of the engine and firewall MB exhaust manifold the downstream sensor is located in the tailpipe right after the catalytic converter. The upstream center is the easier of the two to get at all You have to do is open the hood and remove the engine cover. Look over top of the hood and You will see the exhaust manifold and the sensor will be right on top in the center of it. The upstream sensor monitors the exhaust gases as they leave the engine and the downstream sensor monitors the exhaust gas after it leaves the catalytic converter. The computer will look at the data received from these sensors and will adjust the air and fuELRatio to help clean the air leaving the car better.
