The transmission fluid pressure sensor on a Mazda3 is located on the outside of the transmission casing. In order to replace it the air filter housing will need to be removed. Begin by opening the hood, Open the drivers door and reach in and pull the hood release lever. It is located on the left side of the steering wheel at the bottom of the kick panel. When You hear the hood pop, go around to the front and put Your hand between the grille and hood and move the hood latch to the right and lift the hood up. Now pull the tab on the side of the airbox to release the lid and pull out the air filter. Now take a flat screwdriver or a nut driver to loosen the hose clamp on the air duct going into the throttle body. Now remove the bottom of the air filter housing from the engine bay and unplug the electrical harness going to the sensor. Turn the sensor counterclockwise to remove it from the transmission.

The transmission fluid pressure sensor in a Mazda3 should be inside the transmission, attached to one side of the valve body. In some cases though, this sensor can be attached to the transmission itself.
