The MINI Cooper's relays may be found on the drivers side of the engine bay. They will be next to fuses in a rectangular black plastic boxBehind the coolant reservoir. The box is located on the right hand side of the bay, next to the firewall, near the cooling hoses. The MINI Cooper's starter relay is housed here. The relay's job is to direct power from the battery to the starter solenoid, that engages the starter and turns the flywheel to fire the engine. The cost to replace this part averages $15-$18, and can be positioned by the driver without the assistance of a mechanic. Remember to disconnect the battery's negative terminal before replacing and then re-connect the battery once complete.

The answers on this site are completely useless. I would hope everyone knows the relays are in the relay box under the hood. The fact that bmw hires mentally disabled engineers and use generic symbols instead of actual words or descriptions leaves us in need of a PINPOINT location. I would have been much nicer for someone to say "it is relay k6" or something of the sort. Instead of just saying the relay is in the relay/pd box under the hood.

The MINI Cooper starter relay can be found in the fuse box located inside the engine bay near the battery.

It says it's under the hood next to the battery? The battery in a supercharged cooper is in the back. It's not under the hood next to the motor.
