The 2006 Nissan Quest uses SAE 5W-30 motor oil. Nissan recommends that You use synthetic oil whenever You need to change it. There are two types of oil that are common on the market these days, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is engineered with newer technology to give You greater wear protection and longer life than the standard petroleum-based conventional option. This means that You should only need to change synthetic oil every 7,500 miles compared to every 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. I recommend checking Your oil at least once a month. You will want to make sure that it is properly filled and free from any signs of burning or contaminants in it.
