The oil used in the 2017 Jeep Renegade depends on which engine is installed in it. You should only use Mopar SAE 0W-20 engine oils that are API Certified and meet the requirements of FCA Material Standard MS6395 in the Renegades with the 2.4 liter engines. The 1.4 liter Turbo engine's use Mopar SAE 5W-40 synthetic engine oil approved to FCA Material Standard MS-12991. Jeep recommends using brands such as Pennzoil, Shell Helix or an equivalent that meets the same quality standards and viscosity rating. The Renegade is equipped with an engine oil change indicator system which monitors the engine use and driving style to determine when an oil change is needed. When the Oil Change Due message illuminates have Your oil changed as soon as possible.
