Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2135 on the Chevrolet Equinox (and other vehicles, for that matter) indicates an electrical failure of the throttle position sensor or switch. Typically, You'll have two throttle position sensors. If the data that You receive from one does not correlate to the other, P2135 is set. You'll often experience decreased engine performance, stalling, erratic performance, or even engine limp mode if You're getting the code. Because of those symptoms, it's important that You fix the issue right away. The potential causes are throttle position sensor failure (most likely), accelerator pedal position assembly failure, damaged wires, poor connections, or an issue with the powertrain control module (least likely), wherein it falsely skews the data because it's unable to read it properly. Begin Your diagnosis with the TPS, and move on from there.
