The Top answer is not correct. 1KZ is a Diesel Engine thus it does not have the Ignition Coils. The Error code 14 is related to Timing Control Valve. The issue could be related to Frozen Fuel, Air in Fuel System, The ECU or the Timing Control Valve itself. The issue is with load (or uphill) with low RPMs. The ECL comes on and engine loses power for a while. On leaving the accelerator, the ECL will go off and engine regains its power . At high RPMs there wont be any issues.

I also have problem with code14 for 1kz te diesel engine. Engine check light was appeared when speed up until rpm about 3k or speed about 100km/h. Is it because of TCV?Check engine light disappear when rpm at about 1k.Car can’t accelerate when the check engine light appear. Seem like fuel been cut off.

So you've got to check on coils, one should be faulty, computer box harness for any possible dry joint and pick up sensors . We are dealing with lose of power connectivity, remember! But was supposed to be 1KR NOT 1KZ
