The outside temperature sensor on a Volvo XC60 is located behind the passenger side door mirror. In order to replace it You will need a plastic pry tool and a T20 torxBit and bit driver. Take the plastic pry tool an enter behind the mirror and pry out on it. Don't worry about breaking the mirror it is held in firmly, but it will pop out of socket by prying on it. Do not use a metal screwdriver because there's not enough surface area on it and You could damage the mirror. Once the mirror Is popped out of its socket You will see the sensor. The replacement sensor does not have a plug on the end, You will have to cut the wires to be old one and splice the new wires to the old.

The Volvo XC60 ambient air temp sensor location is at the front of the engine bay under the hood.
