Your fuel pressure regulator on the 2002 Honda Civic is actually located on the fuel pump itself, which of course, is in the fuel tank. This part causes the fuel to come to a restrictor, which causes pressure to build up to help fill the requirements of the engine. Symptoms that this part is failing would be seeing black smoke emitting from the tailpipe; in fact, this is probably the number one sign of a failing fuel pressure regulator. Another is seeing actual fuel dripping out of Your tailpipe, and the usual trouble duo of Your engine mIS Firing or stalling out completely.
