The 2005 Ford Explorer MAF sensors are located between the air filter and the throttle body and are responsible for measuring the amount of air entering the engine. Most vehicles have a hot wire MAF sensor. Your Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF Sensor) is a piece of technology within Your engine which tells Your car's computer how much air is entering the engine. This is important as it allows Your engine to regulate its performance and change the intake of air to keep Your engine running in its best condition. The positioning of the MAF is very important to getting an accurate measure of incoming air so the computer can calculate the correct amount of fuel.
