The throttle position sensor in a 2005 Ford Freestyle is located on the throttle body. This measures the input from Your gas pedal and lets the throttle body know how much it will need to open in order to match the input that You have given via the pedal. If Your throttle position sensor is failing You will usually notice that there is a delay in throttle response and acceleration. Your engine may also run rough if it is not getting enough fuel from the throttle body. Usually when the throttle position sensor fails You will get a check engine light on at the dash to let You know that the ECU has lost communication with it and that it needs to be replaced.
