The cabin air filter in the 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche is located beneath the glovebox on the passenger side of the vehicle. It is generally recommended to replace this part every 15,000 miles or once per year, whichever comes first. If You look just beneath the glove box, You should see a plastic panel that needs to be pulled off to reveal the air filter housing cover. You will need to remove the screws to this housing cover. You will see there are two filters. Pull both out slowly, paying attention to how they are positioned, so it's easier to line the new ones up accurately. Insert both filters by sliding them in place. The air flow arrow needs to point towards the driver's side of the vehicle. Secure the housing cover and panel cover.

I am sorry but I even took the glove box out of the way and the drop cover and nope no filter cover also watched a couple of videos to see where it should be. Not there. So I guess not all the early models had them. I have a 2006 avalanche
