The FPDM on the 2006 Ford Explorer is located on the passenger side behind the interior trim in the cargo area (where the third row is located) pretty much behind the rear passengers taillight. If You remove the interior trim panel You'll see it bolted (one 10mm bolt, and two wire harness clips) just below the taillight bolts. The Fuel Pump Driver Module controls the voltage delivered to a vehicle's fuel pump. By controlling the voltage, the module maintains optimal fuel pressure and fuel delivery to the engine throughout its full operating range. The cost of having the fuel pump replaced by a mechanic will generally be between $260 “ $1009, and the price will vary greatly depending on the type of car You own.
