The idle air control valve on the 2006 Ford F-150 is located in the throttle body on the driver side. The throttle body itself is inside of the passenger side portion of the manifold. If the valve on Your car is going bad then You will notice that You have a rough idle. The car will likely shake and rattle when You are still. In some cases, it may stall out altogether when still. This is because the valve controls how much air is allowed to enter the engine. If too little is in the engine then the car is unable to create combustion, thus the rattles. If there is no air at all then it will completely fail.
