In order to access the neutral safety switch on a 2008 Chevy Impala You're first going to have to remove the case from the transmission in order to access it. This is going to be a difficult process and it'll require the use of a full tool kit. The switch if it needs to be replaced is going to cost between $15 and $35 depending on if You want an OEM part of aftermarket part. Takeng apart the transmission is a difficult job so most owners will want to have a mechanic do this and You can expect to spend between $400 and $600 if You're going that route.
