The PCV valve in a 2008 Chevy Impala is located on the side of the engine block on the valve cover. The end of the PCV valve looks like a rubber plug. The valve recirculates exhaust gases that blow into the crankcase back into the engine for more complete burning. On the Impala, You will have to change this part after 100,000 miles of driving.Locate the Impala's PCV valve. Pull the connecting hose off the end of the valve. It should pull straight off. You may need to remove a retaining ring using a pair of pliers to work the ring off the end of the hose and then pull the hose off the valve. Turn the PCV valve counterclockwise as though You were unscrewing a light bulb. The valve will come out of the engine relatively easily this way.
